144 KW/180 KVA Universal Load Bank (ULB)
Description
The ULB is used as a mobile test set for periodic maintenance and troubleshooting flightline Ground Power Units (GPUs), motor generators, solid-state frequency converters, solid-state direct current (DC) power supplies, and the B-52H Stratofortress aircraft’s on-board alternating current (AC) generators.
The ULB is a trailer-mounted, self-contained mobile load bank capable of dissipating three-phase 115/200 VAC and 230/400 VAC at 400 Hz, 28.5 VDC, and 270 VDC through resistive, inductive, and capacitive load elements. All operating power is derived from the Unit Under Test (UUT). The ULB supports safe interoperation with both MIL-STD-704 compliant and non-compliant power sources without damage to the ULB or UUT.
